Home of the Bendle Tigers!

Bendle High School has been providing quality education to students since the first graduating class back in 1931. Currently, over 360 students in grades 9 – 12 receive outstanding services from 18 teachers, one career resource center coordinator, one counselor and one social worker. In addition, a support staff including a full time tutor, two secretaries, cooks, and bus drivers contribute to the warm, close-knit community here at Bendle.

In the fall of 2008, we opened the new Bendle High School. This facility is state of the art in every way. Wireless internet access throughout the building supports the use of over 300 laptop and desk top computers by our students and teachers. Video projectors in every classroom allow faculty to access the most up to date and innovative teaching tools on a daily basis in their classrooms. New science labs and a new life management lab provide students with the latest equipment to use. Our Cafetorium serves students during the lunch periods as an excellent eating and social area and then at night serves as a performance area for the band, drama students and elementary musical groups. A new acoustically enhanced music room supports our band programs efforts to produce quality productions. Finally, our new gymnasium has already hosted several district, and regional state tournaments, with more opportunities to come. The Bendle Community has provided its students with the best of everything in academics and athletics!

We offer a small school setting with a large school curriculum, providing 60 different courses on site. Our curriculum is enhanced by student participation in the countywide distance learning GenNET program. In the past 11 years, students have taken Calculus, Astronomy, Psychology, American Sign Language, Japanese, Criminal Justice, Broadcasting, Marine Biology, Sports Medicine, Intro to Law, German, French, and Chinese. In addition, over 70 students were enrolled in the Genesee Area Skill Center, where they participated in programs ranging from Auto Mechanics to Robotics. Also, we follow state dual enrollment guidelines that allow students to acquire college credit while attending high school. Last year five students were dual enrolled at either Mott Community College or U-M Flint.

Extracurricular clubs and organizations, such as Science Club, Power Lifting, National Honor Society, Student Council, and Service Learning, in addition to curricular programs such as band, and senior project broaden the experiences for all high school students. Finally, six male and female interscholastic sport teams participate in Genesee Area Conference and non-league events.

Bendle High School students have been accepted to some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the United States. At Bendle, you get the best of both worlds, a small close-knit family environment with a wide variety of course offerings and student activities.

Bendle High School is proud of its heritage and continues to strive to offer the best possible educational opportunities for its students. We pride ourselves on making everybody feel like somebody! Our school mission is as follows:

Bendle High School will provide the opportunities that will allow each student to achieve his/her full potential in an environment which fosters mutual respect between students and staff.”
