Programs:

• Speech and Language services for pre-school aged children through high school.

• Early Childhood Special Education Program.

• Social work services are available in each building.

• Resource rooms are located in the following schools:

  • South Bendle

  • West Bendle       

  • Middle School

  • High School

Indications That Your Child May Have a Learning Problem:

• Consistently low test scores.

• Processing delays when faced with academic skills

• Labored handwriting after third grade.

• Poor word recall.

• Poor decoding (word attack) skills.

• Consistently low achievement despite remediation. 

• Difficulty pronouncing words through third grade.

• Immature or delayed speech patterns.

• Difficulty labeling thoughts or objects.

• Difficulty putting thoughts into words.

Meeting Students Needs:

In order to help meet the special needs of a student, a Child Study Team is developed.

 

The Child Study Team is initiated through the child's classroom teacher and the necessary paperwork is completed to determine a plan of action to best meet the child's needs.  The parent's input is an integral part of this process.

 

Through the building level Child Study Team, a global approach is initiated to identify needs for potential high-risk students.

 

The major objective of the Child Study Team is to bring together a variety of professional  perspectives into a single unit to provide recommendations for a student.

 

It is the goal of the Bendle Public School district to meet the needs of your child

through a partnership between the home and school, in order to help your child have a positive and successful school experience.
